MIT SOLVE - 2022 Finalist

Context

MIT Solve is a global initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that supports tech-driven solutions to major social challenges. The 2022 Global Challenges included a focus on the Care Economy, asking how care can be made more accessible, affordable, and valued for all.

The Challenge

Access to affordable, high-quality childcare remains a persistent barrier for working parents and employers alike. Existing childcare systems are fragmented, under-resourced, and misaligned with workforce needs — limiting participation, productivity, and equity in the labor market.

My Role

Team member and contributor to solution design and strategy.

What We Did
  • Developed Yellownest: Nurturing Growth, a solution positioning childcare as an employer-supported benefit

  • Designed an approach leveraging technology to better align the needs of parents, childcare providers, and employers

  • Focused on improving access, affordability, and sustainability within the childcare ecosystem

  • Articulated a scalable model responsive to both workforce and care-provider constraints

Outcome / Impact
  • Selected as a 2022 Finalist in the MIT Solve Global Challenges (Care Economy)

  • Advanced to pitch and interview with expert judging panels as one of 75 finalist teams selected from over 1,100 global submissions

  • Contributed to broader dialogue on employer-enabled childcare solutions within the care economy
